I'm not 100%, but I think this has to do with a Hangouts setting: "Show when you were last active". If that is unchecked, it means that some users (some clients?) will always show you as offline.

Hmm. Big O already encompasses "at worst". Theta is the notation for a single case, be it the worst case, the best case, one run of a randomized algo, etc. At least that is my understanding.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are sending a Safari user-agent string for all of the devices. It might be worthwhile to send the proper user-agent strings for each device, so that you'll get a custom response from
