   I've been receiving these on my iPhone (via Google Drive app) with no real recourse. This problem isn't limited to Android users.

   I have been using the free tier of Mailgun for this. http://www.mailgun.com/ I use routes and rules to create throwaways on my own domains when necessary.

   Did you have DO's backup service enabled when this happened? If so, I feel like they should have provided a more streamlined customer experience restoring the damaged/lost droplet from the latest Amazon Glacier instance.
