Unless you have to execute (ba)sh-native scripts in Windows, I find Cygwin way too cumbersome. As I mentioned above, UnxUtils gets you the tooling without the path delimiter headaches.

Agree about Cmdr, but I'd add PyCmd[1] and UnxUtils[2]. I've never had much success with Chocolatey (probably due to corporate firewall issues). Gets me acceptably close to bash. [1] http://sourceforge.net/projec
