With talk here of Ruby stagnating, has anyone checked out Crystal? I have not but have been curious about it.

I was 9 when I first played EverQuest - I'm now 35. That game taught me how to type on a keyboard. Probably the game that influenced my life the most. RIP Brad, and shout out to the team.

I think if you made this a plugin for an existing engine, say Godot, you could get a lot of use out of it. I'd use it!

Makes me think of https://bearblog.dev/ . I've been thinking about using Obsidian as a static site generator.

I want to work on a grid-based inventory system similar to those found in aRPGs and extraction games in the Godot engine.

Is this a competitor to Heroiclabs (Nakama, Hiro, Satori)? Just trying to understand more where Talo fits. Seems like it's Hiro + Satori wrapped in one, but minus Nakama which would be the game server.

Sounds cool. I'm interested in netcode using Godot. Is there a Git repo I can check out?

What did you get from it? I read it, but like most self-help books - I felt like it could've been 1/4 the size. The book could've been 10-20 pages. Once the message is clear, they become a slog IMO. The author was smart in co

1) You love the Ruby programming language. 2) It's battle-tested. Tried and true. Batteries included. Can have a web app with most functionality needed running in minutes. 3) There are more reasons, but there are other good options as

I'm depressed studying computer science. Been thinking about quitting seeing how people with years of experience can't even find work.

I can’t believe it has gone this far. I was flying out of Logan airport (Boston) and had to have my face scanned right boarded the plane. There was nothing about opting out. It seemed like I didn’t comply, I wasn’t flying. I hate this. Feel

I'm also on HIBP over 10x. What are we supposed to do? Create a new email address for every service we sign up for? I don't know what the best practice is for keeping our personal data safe anymore.

The comments make me feel disheartened to be studying computer science hoping to get into the industry. Seemed like 6 years or so ago people made it sound like this was the best industry to get into. Recruiters hitting people up left and ri

I think there should be strict laws around outsourcing. Maybe companies that pay X amount of taxes (related to their earnings) have to ensure Z amount of their employees are nationals. It just doesn’t seem fair that they get to take advanta

Some of my fondest memories are LAN parties. We used to play all sorts of games, some of the usual suspects like Counter-Strike, Age of Empires II, etc, but my favorite is when we did 3v3 DotA. We had three people in one room on a team, and
