Recording phone calls is useful to suspicious girlfriends, and about nothing else. I doubt any identity thief would listen to your phone calls in hopes that you mention a credit card number or something of value.

I, to this day, believe the whole thing was a test to garner interest. The screenshots on the website look like photoshop mockups of what the app could look like. I've yet to see an actual video demo of the app working, and i've yet to hear

I've never paid more than $8 per domain registration OR RENEWAL at Godaddy. There is always a usable coupon at retailmenot. I'd really like to switch, but one of these alternatives are going to need to really compete on price.

To you, no. Consumers have an irrational understanding that swiping a credit card is safe. Taking a picture of it is likely the sketchiest action a merchant could take, in the eyes of the average uneducated consumer.
