I have an employee that has to be at work at the office. Otherwise he gets depressed due to lack of human interaction. Like me, he's an introvert. But I force him to go to the office and I go to just to keep him alive.

Also don't talk to federal agents. Lying to a federal agent is a felony, and often times they don't have enough evidence for the original crime, but by talking to you they get evidence of you lying

Definitions change indeed. We also have the right to push back on changing them. I come from a culture that is thousands of years old, and don't wish to change the definition of "Mom" just yet without good reason.

In some places in America the police are vastly over funded, but in other places we have much lower police to citizen ratios than NYC. Police defunding in Seattle would be a disaster for example.
