   I had a similar experience. The difference is that was restricted to just computer lab. Now kids have computers on their desks during many more classes. I don’t think it is reasonable to expect they can stay focused.

   I agree the problem you are describing also exists. But I think the GP here is describing when people really can’t program. Like they can only write trivial programs by copy/pasting code from stackoverflow, and they don’t understand CS

   Yeah I know, but I guess I’m just not enough of a sociopath to climb the ladder in FAANG. Just stuck at Senior, probably forever.
