I didn’t say it was a written estimate. I said the opposite. Do you know how towing a car into this particular shop works? If so, please enlighten me. In most shops, mechanics do not talk to customers. Mechanics get paid to work on vehicles

It might be the same calls if you work at a shop that only works on one model year vehicle doing a set of services. Note that services are not repairs. Otherwise, it’s all different.
