Seems fair. I am EU citizen, can go to US visa free, but ESTA is required. It should be the same from the other side. And US limits countries I can visit. Iran is great holiday destination, but after visit I would need US visa.

And as always it will backfire on users! Now it is impossible to find unlimited rentals, every contract has yearly extensions! In some countries landlords even rotate tenants every two years, else they would get extra rights from long stay.

You can get virtual server for $4/month. Installing proprietary software and registering to some service, that may "upgrade" to premium tier anytime, is pretty off-putting.
