Not sure I get the point - Netflix with Chrome on Linux just plain works. I use it all the time. Stop trying to make Firefox happen. It's a rapidly dying browser. I see less than 10% of the hits on the sites I manage from FF.

Yes, and no less than 3 of my former jobs required a photocopy of the card itself. You can argue legal requirements, or you can shut up and be paid. Sometimes it's better to be paid than right. (Especially on your first few jobs)

For "social security" benefits. Yes. And look how that's turned out. It's deemed proof of citizenship (and a vital document) despite being just a poor quality piece of paper. The data is misused in just about every way.

I'd argue "A citizen should _never_ have to register with the government" should really be the entire statement. Things like aid and whatnot should really be isolated and broken off to prevent mass collection dbs.

My kids were also pretty bright, so I just taught them how to access info they were interested in... and got out of the way. When they came to me with tough questions, we would learn together. It was fun, and they seem to have turned out ok

Neat concept - but the intro page there is a hard stop for me. You need to convince people why they should log in via your site, screenshots, overviews, etc. Right now, it looks like a very bad way to harvest logins. (IMO)

I find the optimizations tend to derive from real use cases. In this case, both Windows and Linux are used for huge server farms. MacOS not so much. Apple probably doesn't spend the energy optimizing this sort of thing since it's

I still get a bit of a thrill from the Quadratec and Cabelas catalogs, but nothing on par with that. It was really the best. My first Nintendo came from that Sears Christmas Catalog :)
