I suggested local storage only for the case where a new user (not logged in) has added some tasks and then decides to sign up. The tasks in local storage would then be added to the user once it is created. The local storage acts as a temp

This could easily be done using local storage. I'm guessing the author has already run into this problem and is working on it though.
