"Freezing" and "freezer cold" aren't the same temperature - I'd generally consider "freezing" to be about 0°C, where a freezer should be at most -18°C in order to stop food from spoiling.

If you're using an iPhone (dunno if Android has a similar feature), you can enable "silence unknown callers" in the phone settings. Then anyone not in your contacts or suggested contacts won't even ring.

I've never really understood the desire to use the button on the display to turn off monitors - does allowing the monitors to be switched off by the OS not solve basically the same problem ?

I've not tested it, but it should expand just like anything else. The effect would broadly be that running "rm *" in the directory would recurse into subfolders without warning.
