I used to use remind and wyrd[0] along with remind-caldav[1] for calendaring. I believe I either used remind-caldav or a custom python script set in my mailcap file (I don't remember which it was now) that would open up calendar attach

You're only addressing half the issue here. By delegating control of your domain to bsky.app, you're still beholden to a centralized ban list and retain no control over your own instance.
