yah. I usually first build REST API using HTML as main representation of resources. It looks ugly. But fully functional. Then I add user facing rendering that adds CSS, Javascript, and possibly transforming representation. For mobile pages,

yes, REST is same as web scale a.k.a mongodb. Developer community has also appropriated functional programming to mean angular.js. or was that underscore or something.
