This might be a dumb question: are there shells that have a HTML-based front and passes commands into the background? Seems like something like that would be far more flexible than this – which feels like a Jenga tower of hacks.

I also think you're underestimating the usefulness of a tablet form factor when physicians are sharing information with their patients. Harder to do that with a laptop.

Not user defaults, useful defaults. Some css resets strip out bullet styles for lists, or focus styles on selected text boxes. I assume this keeps things like that intact instead of nuking everything.

Really impressive work! I'd suggest for your demo video, instead of showing all your features in action, to instead talk through a typical scenario (someone taking an order, closing the order, etc) and showing what it's like to use the app.

I like the swipe feature, but it's harder to grab and drag that tiny handle than to just roll over an image. With rollovers, I'd be able to flip through the two much more rapidly and simply. Also, I should mention that Kaleidoscope is one o

I'm happy with your design choices, actually. However, I do wish that clicking through to the comments was easier - giving the link a larger hit area, for example.
