What's the point if the user doesn't control the keys? If the data and the keys are both with Amazon, is this anything other than a ticky box for the marketing dept?

Seconding this, switched to TextSecure when they combined SMS and Hangouts. It is an excellent SMS app replacement. The crypto doesn't get in your way, even when almost none of your contacts also use it.

I'm finding voip.ms to be pretty good, no major issues in over a year of using them. It's a power user tool, so it's not quite as slick as Voice was. I ported my old Voice number to voip.ms too.

I suggest that you apply to companies directly, with a cover letter tailored for each company/job, and avoid these generic CV-mangling systems.

Everyone involved in that needs to read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crash-only_software and get comfortable with the idea of pulling that plug. It'll help in the long run.

If you're installing it on a laptop just to play with it, perhaps https://www.hostedgraphite.com might be useful. The 14 day trial means you can fool around and dump it for self-hosted at the end of it. :) (My company)

http://www.hostedgraphite.com - exactly what it sounds like. (For those who don't know what Graphite is, it's a popular open source tool for recording and graphing metrics, typically server and app performance stuff)

Hetzner is good, the hardware is (mostly) good, the provisioning is fast, the support responses are fast but they follow scripts very closely. The biggest problem is that their network is terrible. We typically lose contact (50% packet loss
