   Could you rephrase this? I'm interested in your point, but the use of 'one' as an ambiguous pronoun (and contrasted in one phrase with 'you') makes this super difficult to parse?

   I had a long term, off and on again, thoroughly toxic relationship. Many years. I ended it this year, am totally out, and have never felt happier, lighter, and more confident about my life.
