Recently took a waymo in Phoenix. Its was pretty smooth. There was an event and several road closures. It managed to reroute using an alternative path. Some times the waymo was cheaper than uber and at other times was twice as expensive.

Open AI's CEO Sam Altman's take is that they will only ever allow API access to their models to avoid misuse. I don't get HN's take with wanting everything open sourced. Some things are expensive to create and dangerous

The secret to beating Isshin is you dont try to kill him. Think of him as a friend you’re trying to hang around and not let go. Once you get muscle memory for all his movesets you can sense that you can end the game whenever you want.

I'd recommend interested folks to listen to Musk on Joe Rogan's podcast. Musk gives detailed explanations on the challenges they face and how they solve them.

My grandfather is suffering from what I guess is intermediate onset of Alzheimer's. A couple of months ago he used to ask for my wife by name during every video call. During our last call he forgot that I'd gotten married at all.

I've recently tried the Beyond Meat patties from CostCo. They taste great. I could tell it wasn't beef but it tasted good enough that I didn't care.

I would recommend http://www.bottomupcs.com/ if you're looking for a quick crash course. It's a bit out of date but its the shortest book I've found which covers most of the computer science stack.

I think its due to a couple of things. 1. Free "Space"/"Threads" in our brain as kids we had a clean install of an os with only hunger and sleep to worry about. As adults we juggle with dozens of things in our mind

Thanks. It looks like their orbit is around 800 miles compared to the usual 22,000. Expected latency seems to be around 25ms. Would satellites be used for first hop only? I image latency would quickly increase if used for multiple hops.

How can satellites have low latency? The current average ping times seem to be around 900ms. Isn't this almost unusable?
