I don't have the answer as it pertains to Uber, but the "marketplace" approach to things is pretty universal. Ebay fees are upwards of 10-15%. Amazon fees can be as high as 45% Apple's app store fee can be 15 to 30% Uber

IBMs culture is varied.. It’s a huge company. I work at Red Hat, it’s culture is varied. I saw some people furious because of personal prejudices against IBM but many seem to be looking at this opportunistically.
