This is a fair criticism of hosted Forgejo in general. Running Forgejo is the easy part. Backups, restore testing, upgrades, isolation and actually operating it for years are the product. Disclaimer, I run one called Fjord

This is exactly the migration problem we're trying to make boring with Fjord. It shouldn't require a flag day, bring up Forgejo alongside GitHub, mirror while the team moves over, then migrate CI incrementally. For a 20–30 dev tea

This is pretty much why I started Fjord. I like Forgejo/Gitea, but didn't think “run your own forge forever” should be the only alternative to GitHub. We run dedicated Forgejo instances for people who want that middle ground.

I think the interesting challenge isn’t running agents, it’s reviewing their work. The more code agents produce, the more important provenance, review ergonomics, and trust become. I also suspect repository platforms will need to evolve the
