I am not a PS guru. All of that is gibberish to me. I think this is what is going on: 1) There is a single source file foo.ps 2) Since PS is interpreted, there is a statement like: if(filename=="recommendation.ps") { show_recommendation();

Freakonomics has an interesting perspective: It is due to the legalization of abortion. The authors do make a good case for it. I tend to lean towards this explanation which amounts to less poor young people.

A good way to come up with new ideas is live outside the tech world. Get a non-tech job in a totally different field. Haven't tried that myself, but I'd bet you'd come up with some good ideas that way.
