Yup, I found about this when I accidentally clicked on such a link to PlayStore that was missing the colon and was confused when it didn't work and copy-pasted it in the address bar. I am sure it was just a typo on that website. GitHub

Except this thing is opt-out and would put a whole lot of data on tens of millions of computers including things that were never stored by default (credit card numbers, reset codes, e2e encrypted messages etc). Recall is a malware.

True. They broke the basic Windows search functionality some time in 2007 and broke Outlook search around 2013 and neither of which have been fixed since.

In fairness, not that many people (including Microsoft) write native C++ apps for Windows anymore, certainly not without tried and tested libraries. You can write C# code dealing with reading/writing files once and compile it on Linux&

Correct, but it hasn't been upgraded in over a decade. It no longer produces apps that are consistent with Microsoft's own the way it was until Windows 7.
