I'm using xprivacy. It is a pain in the ass but does give me the functionality you mentioned. Root required. Asks with popup on requested permission. Tracks app permission request history. Fresh installed apps restricted by default

I don't see where it says "more secure". Secure only shows up once in the article and once in their privacy policy. Perhaps it would be better to stick to "privacy" as that's the value i see here. the privacy policy states: ... affiliate

I would be part of that market if something nice was available. I have test installed a diaspora pod as well as a libertree tree. Diaspora has its well documented issues and libertree is still bleeding edge.

The one major thing I know of that has come of this is that I can put linux on my ps3 again. I'm happy about that. I'd like to think he willfully and knowingly unlocked a piece of hardware for the masses knowing it would primarily be used

How about tweaking karma to add value to certain users votes, users with tons of great submissions and comments to have more effect. You can grant power karma to people you feel have the same philosophy or that you feel drive HN in the dir
