Agree! The web-player not including features from the desktop application is unacceptable. I just canceled my Spotify subscription for similar reasons this week. Discovery has become a pain, and I found myself listening to the same 50 or so

I’m speculating. Perhaps this practice is common because it keeps the books clean on final payouts. Plus it allows the employee to finish any projects they’re working on during the week. Not 100% sure though.

I think Mozilla would make some dough if they did periodic fundraising campaigns similar to how Wikipedia does it. A simple banner on the new tab page with a heartfelt message on the state of funding with a link to their donation page would

There are options. Personally I run Graphene OS on a Pixel 3a. I have no proprietary software (with exception to binary firmware blobs for the modem and other low-level components) installed on my device. All apps are sourced from F-Droid.
