I have aphantasia and I don’t have much trouble thinking of data structures and so on without visualising them. It’s hard to describe how I do it. I do imagine it would be easier with visualisation. If it gets hard I’ll use a pen and paper

smartmontools makes this trivial and can email you which might be better than beeping and lights if you’re not always near your server. I use that plus smartctl_exporter so I can do metrics and alerting off that.
