Overall the site looks nice and functions well. The ticker a the top is hard to use as I could not see that you could scroll. I like the concept of the 101 section, could use some more info.

The idea of boosting national pride might be the end goal in mind. They don't need commercial success. If they want to convey the idea to the nation that we can design and build on par and maybe even better than the rest of the world.

It seems of late everyone is trying to improve on something that is obviously working. ie. Craigslist Love it or hate it, it's working for them. Why not examine why it is working so well and take some lessons, and build better products?
