I was just at a Microsoft store this morning and I did not find the above experience to be true at all. In fact when I stopped by the Apple store the staff was much more intrusive.

Definitely not. Most public schools have in state tuition of under $10,000 per year with lots of financial aid for those in need.

Actually, Chrome gives the user a choice of search engine on first startup and does not have a default browser ( at least in the United States)

Only if they use electronic methods such as jammers. As far as I can tell there is no law against making a building a large faraday cage isn't prohibited.

Is this even legal? My question is if they are just monitoring cell phone signals they must have some way of intercepting them. Is this not akin to wire tapping?

I am seeing the samething on Chrome 15 and Windows XP. I wonder if there is some issue with the font rendering engine on XP. Additionally, if you zoom in 3 or 4 times on the page the font suddenly clears up.

Installing the hacked version of Flash does not required root access. On my Honeycomb tablet its as easy as installing any non-market APK.

I take it you've never used the Google Voice application for Android/iPhone? On my android phone the text message issues you've mention disappear as there are no forwarding numbers and every message arrives on my phone.

Changing the user agent unblocks most of that content. Although most websites streams at 480i and look pretty miserable on an HDTV.

Using a TPM to ensure that only trusted software is accessing the fob as well. We're still a little ways off from a completely cryptographically secure software stack.

That depends on whether or not there are any bugs or quirks in Android x86 that may or may not be present in Android for ARM and vice versa.

My biggest gripe is the lack of music discovery functions. MOG is a competing service and I find their artist radio functionality helps me find new bands I would have never heard of before. Spotify lacks anything resembling discovery func

I'm running into an issue where I get intermittent internet disconnection on the guest. I can't pinpoint what's causing but gmail will just start to time out. Wasn't there in Vbox 3.x though.

In fact my chrome is working with MP4 video and this appears just to be Apple pushing quicktime on to Chrome users.

The version of Chrome I'm using must have removed H264 support. Quicktime as a fallback is rather disappointing as Flash seems like it has a much higher install base and smaller disk space footprint.

A little off topic but why when I go to http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/siri.html and try to watch the video am I prompted to download Quicktime. I thought apple was all about HTML5 and killing off browser plugins?
