I would call it a "volatile read". Maybe it changes the state maybe it doesnt. Especially since we dont know yet why exactly this occurs.

Its typicaly considered the worst of all side effects of a programming language. Ive heard it referred to only as a side effect. But there is the issue of representation in quantum physics which is real, observation does change the state.

Seems to be doing a good job, is not really a technical statement. Lot of things that fail seem to be doing a good job. Im sure Zuck had a meeting yesterday about his mobile HTML5 team and said "You seem to be doing a good job".

I dont know if this will get approved but forcing us all to integrate headers into HTTP standards is not going to work. Thats why X headers exist. We need ways to move forward or e ven sideways if thats what we choose using an extension me

I really dont like this notion of developers catering to Apple's capricious DPI choices which will be device dependent. I love Apple products, but I dont see anyone getting on this bandwagon in a serious way unless there is an industry stan

This is the New York Times which on a near daily basis features articles with titles like "What you can get for 2 million dollars" (a nice closet in a bad neighborhood) as if thats a bargain. Expecting sanity in either the SF or NYC market
