I would NOT want to meet anyone from here tbh. I fear what people write here are how they are in real life. Not saying they are bad people just from the bad takes and endless pedantic arguments are something I would quickly grow tired in a

holy cow! this is insane. should be possible to create a mesh, get stable fusion to generate a UV texture map too! later we should be able to use prompts to generate 3d meshes with full uv texture map as photogammetry picks up pace. first t

Yes but likewise, the motives and their future intent is unknown by a sub optimal move. So in a sense, it is similar to bluffing when you don't know the actions of the other person, deception is required to make yourself unpredictable.

It means the stream of capital being injected into companies, startups, incubators is inversely correlated to fed interest rates. Likewise for real estate sector, the monthly mortgage payments increase as rates rise and that puts a big stra

I believe this attitude is local to HN. I don't see employers ditching Figma, they are locked in.

Personally if I was a shopify employee and I was looking at all these layoffs coinciding with rate rises with more to come, I would think liquidity will quickly dry up and opt for cash. I am open to rebuttals but I'm hearing that we wi

When they were printing money endlessly and rates were low, your strategy is sound. However, the house of cards is now crumbling and there is no end in sight to rate rises. My hedge fund manager friend for a private family office is saying

Interesting, do you have plans to support GPU as well? I can see this is a bottom up approach: put a low load instance close to the user for reads and have a globally synced write that should handle race conditions etc Are there cold start

hmm but how would the replication and sync be handled if you have many sqlite instances on edge locations around the world? If someone inserts a row with id 234 and somebody from other side of the world does it, wouldn't this type of l

Seeing how many MongoDB instances were running wide open to the internet despite calls to not do so, your concern is certainly valid.

For many fly.io is not a viable alternative especially those that are already on the AWS train. I think that AWS already offers Aurora Serverless v2 which pretty much accomplishes what a lot of these me-too-serverless services that won'

This type of multiples is only possible when rates are low. Likely their last infusion of capital made their valuations possible but I reckon it is reduced as rates are ticking up fast.

I wonder what will happen now that the ponzi structure is now gained new velocity as energy constraints have shut down proof of work mining. PoW creates centralized collusion between those who can afford the best miners and this helped the
