If you are doing it right you can put _more_ money in your mutual fund. The idea for lots of people doing it is to earn, for example, a western european income but have eastern european/south east asian living expenses. I live in Zuric

Pretty close to what I'm doing except the travelling/flying part, which is important to me. I don't even like "owning stuff" or subscriptions so I naturally only buy things I can't go without.

For me the only part that is a sacrifice, I guess that would be a "feature" for people who like cooking, is that I basically don't eat out when I'm at home. On the other hand I travel about 2 months a year and I just do

Yes! I save roughly half. I don't plan to live on where I am right now in the future, so basically every month of working means 2-3 months of "not working" in a cheaper location.

Yes! I will probably quit my pretty well-paid job at the end of the year to (slow) travel and work on some SaaS ideas. Basically the worst case is that I have to call it quits and get a another job (if I'm unlucky with less pay). So if

It is not too bad if you don't have three kids or something. I would carefully do the math with a family but otherwise it is totally worth it to make the move. If you live in Germany you would probably have to pay German taxes.

Thats what I do. Depending on where you live, taxes are _way_ lower too, offsetting higher cost of living.
