Hi there, can you explain to us why you chose to invest so heavily in Bitcoin and Ethereum? What gave you the certainty that they would go so well?

I generate a passive income through options trading. It takes a small amount of my time each week. I have built up a wealth of knowledge through years of study. I have experimented with most forms of passive income over 20 years and found

When I was 25 I moved to London to work in another country, meet new people, have adventures ... live life. Prior to that, I was in a similar position to yourself. This was the best time of my life, and I'm glad I did it at that age.

I see money as a measure of value. The exchange of butter for chickens, and determining what exchange rate would be satisfactory for both parties, quite often does not take into account the effort, or cost, of producing the goods. Say it c

Give it an appropriate prioritization in your life. e.g. "This is more important than X". And have in your mind the REASON why it is more important than X. The secret, that I have read, to success at difficult things is knowing

I was hoping he would post references as well. I think there are no literal "management design patterns", he just means there are "design patterns for management" in the form of "management best practices". S

My small amount of research discovered that you can live in a serviced hotel room for between 15,000 and 30,000 THB per month, which is $500 - $1000 USD. This was in Chiang Mai. I explored a couple of different hotels. You can get serious

I've spoken with a few of westerner businessmen in Thailand now, and they re-iterate much the same sentiments. My view has become "go there as a tourist who happens to spend several months on business" as opposed to "go

Any suggestions on how to avoid the 'tourist tax'? Are there westerners set up over there to help other westerners find cheap rentals, etc?

Great write up! I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing. A couple of questions - Why the limitation to being able to only do 6 months? Do they stop renewing your visa after that? Have you looked at other neighbouring countries li

Why are we still writing in mark down? Fair enough, as a techie, it's just assumed you will learn another "language" and be productive. But a creative writer shouldn't have to think "how many #'s do I need to

I found your post insightful and beneficial. Experienced much of it myself. Also, I've had similar arguments with other wannabe entrepreneurs at the start of their path. Hopefully the HN community can benefit from your experiences.

I would be willing to consider the International Space Station an equivalent of the Moon colonies, as it serves much the same purpose; research and training, but is more convenient.

This is what I have been asking for - the Elon Musk biography. However, the one thing that I'm after, and the only thing I would be willing to buy it for, is answer to the question - "How did surmount his challenges?" He mus

There are some good answers and advice in the comments here. One thing that appears to have been missed is - there is an underlying issue that you may or may not have identified yet which will have a major impact on your psyche. Being reje

One of the key differences between Apple and Android - for me - is that people who buy Apple generally buy into the hype created around Apple. And the reverse - people who buy Android don't buy into the hype. I can't say I have

As a long time programmer, I've learnt the mantra "somebody has already solved this, let's go find their solution." That applies to pretty much any technical or non-technical issue that you need to solve. So much of wh

There are ways of getting around it. Travel to S.E Asia and meet some expats who have retired there. For some countries this is easier to get around than others. Mostly, people just do border runs when their 90 days are up.

Suggest Appcelerator or Phonegap due to your web skills and the speed with which you can pump out an app. I had a full working app in 3 months that ran on both Android and iPhone. One code base.
