I am sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with them. I wish I had researched more around Google Store customer support before making my purchase: now that I know, I'll avoid it as much as I can.

Thanks for the suggestion. As far as I can remember from my time there, a valid UK address was mandatory in order to open a bank account there, but maybe this is no longer the case (or it isn't for the banks you mention).
