I see what you are saying, but it's also almost the complete opposite of a union shop. The huge differences that you don't have to work outside of 8 hour day (without time and a half pay) and you are also paid more than non-union

I just did a distance ride (100 miles per day) on my mountain bike loaded with camping gear on dirt paths. Average pace was 10mph, there are more than just carbon bikes on flat roads...

I may be wrong, but I doubt the initial laws were setup to protect the cab industry. It solved a problem of safety, reliability, and set prices with cabs. See third world countries where a cab ride can easily mean a kidnapping or robbery

We call them Jitneys or Hacks here in the US. Very common means of transportation in poor areas, but an app makes the same concept hip I guess.

I'm suspicious of the "unnamed investors". Has anyone done any fact finding, I'm betting these guys are just looking for PR, and saying they got 1.2m for a "Yo" app is a pretty good way to do it.

The salaries are not that much lower, and the cost of living is so significantly lower that you'd net more in Pittsburgh. I live in Pittsburgh and have had several jobs that pay over $100k. You can rent an apartment in the nicest hip

Easy problem to solve, so many entire /8 blocks are owned by single corporations, which should either be forced to sell or give up this outdated privilege. Does Xerox really need all of 13.x.x.x? Or Ford Motor Company all of 19.x.x.x?
