Not just that, CA has 11% state tax. If you move a state with lesser state tax you will save on top of that. Most people are moving to Nevada which has no state tax. This could be huge saving.

It depends a lot on the app your building. If you are a startup, it definitely is much easier to build a monolith and focus on the product features. Micro-Services may not have that much upfront cost of building but as your product grows it
