This may be the Apple fanboy in me talking, but I think Apple was in a tough spot- seems like the tMBP has supplied-constrained components (I think it was hard to get in-store even 3 months after the launch), so their options were- delay it

Not in this case, because a lot of business fail in a year or two, and a lot businesses survive for 10, 20+ years. I'll bet there's a lot of '$ made' graphs for entrepreneurs that don't go up much, or even go down;

Not very easy to extrapolate from that, but Blackberry sold 2.7 million of their Z10 and that was considered a failure, so I don't think 20,000 phones will prove anything.

how long have you been contracting/how many clients have you had? imo, working for client is way, way worse (in terms of how rewarding and interesting the work is, and work flexibility) than working for a company. but hey, if you enjoy it..

Pretty cool marketing tool, but probably not all that practical- no guarantee delivery time (at least not on the front page), and hour-old in-n-out burger/fries/shakes pretty much ruin the in-n-out experience.
