I agree, I should've been more clear, i was referring to database. The main issue is if database , storage and backups are located with single Cloud provider, it is a possibility for a single point of failure.

I think it would be hard for non public domain for one single reason - licensing and drm. Similar to how Netflix/Prime video don’t let us download the movie file without their app.

On large screens open book link will display book embedded in the page. On smaller devices “open book in new tab” button will open pdf in a new tab, because iOS Safari is limited with embedded pdf, with this button book is going to be open

Just stick to MacBooks, you’ll regret on anything else that runs on Windows especially for programming. Current Linux laptop hardware is not even comparable to quality of Apple.
