I'd be fine if this was a true fixed fee, that gets increased when infrastructure is gets improved, similar how water is billed. But I know it won't because ya know corruption and waste.

I don't even need to dig into the article to know it's bullshit. SFH are not a good investment when you're trying lease them out at scale. You don't get economies of scale which an apartment has. Also no homes cashflow,

Yes it'll actually have to more than double, since the high-value users (from perspective of advertisers) will more likely opt-in to the ad-free plan. The opportunity cost will be insane otherwise.
