It's pretty much welded to x86 and it's entire design is server-only. It'd be much, much harder to port than just using Android.

No. The $2M is complete bollocks and they need the 100k to keep going until they can find some actual investment. Otherwise they'd be paying your bills. So tell them you'll consider it once they pay you - and get some kinda signed

There is only one way to learn: have a problem then solve it. It has to be a real one, too. So go and find (small) problem, work out how to solve it and implement it. Then if you really want to learn: promote and sell the damn thing.
