wow, didn't know about this, i developed some drivers and had this test mode enabled to debug some aspects of it, but now it is almost unusable with this on screen.

or an ad blocker, here i had to disable to load the cookies consent window. On Firefox worked better for me here, Chrome had some lag.

i have the same sentiment, and for me systemd was getting so slow and hard to tshoot (the tools to analyze boot graphs and sequence showed service sequence breakage, some times there is no problem, sometimes sequence changed and problem hap

same thing with the Edge browser for me, i have to remove on every update (he has so much telemetry that is a burden, same with other parts of the SO). This is a testament on the philosophy change between all those years, i used so much win

mpv tries to be pretty minimalist (and does this well), you could try a frontend (Celluloid, Haruna, etc.). And for the commandline, when you install the mpv package, depending on the distro, the package creates a default shortcut/des

did you use the in browser or another external task manager? most pages without videos or some kind of gpu process uses 20~30 MB here (like hacker news for example).

yeah, this was expected when they nerfed uBlock (and various other extensions) with the manifest v3. Using another alternatives is the way now for me too, like other comments, using Firefox.
