C# as a system language running on Mono is actually usable. But the thing is, I've never seen an IDE worse than MonoDevelop. Writing C# without Visual Studio, a large part of the benefit of the language just disappears. I would only use C

Everybody I know who knows GIMP thinks it's terrible. I'm getting used it so I guess I'm really a bit tougher than normal people.

Studied Perl before Python years ago. Never got a chance to actually use it, whereas Python became one of my favorite languages.

I tried to install ubuntu on my new laptop recently. Honestly, it feels as bad as it did 10 years ago. Weird installation trap. Can't find drivers for my wireless adaptor. Sleep sometimes work, sometimes not. Tons of big or small problems

There wasn't any version control software out there 6 year ago? Oh, I've been programming for 7 years, I remembered that I used VSS when I started working. But maybe I was using pirate version and you couldn't afford it.

The problem of VIM is that, you need to do a lot of configuration yourself. While this is fan for me, I never recommend it to anyone who has less patience than I have. Any IDE would be much easier for them.
