The best way to accomplish all this is to re-strengthen labor unions, but make it explicit that they do not engage in political contributions/campaigns etc.

Thats what they do for high demand degrees like Engg and Medicine in Pakistan. In Govt. colleges education is virtually free if you are admitted on merit, else you can go for self finance

It's seems very rude and arrogant to the other party in the conversation. On the other hand when the 'seen' thing wasn't happening the other party could at least think that you just haven't checked the message yet.

This is a new idea. How exactly will this work? I mean opening the code and keeping the app paid. Will accepted pull requests get a cut of the money? How long before someone takes this code and builds another reader for metafilter?
