xfreerdp works just fine, however it requires some fiddling if you want to use it on multiple monitors.

It is not a problem to load a static (not changing based on user data) ad from your own server. Using a CDN is likely legitimate interest when it is not using private data for other reasons than serving the content. (I'm not a lawyer.)

The estimate-confidence relation is not linear. In my experience it follows some kind of S-curve, with 0% confidence approaching impossibly short times and 100% approaching infinity (like a logistic function).

I suppose the current situation is that buying is disabled in the app because it is not allowed by Apple (without going trough them and pay the 30% cut), but in an app outside the store it could be enabled.

One benefit of the flat pricing is that it saves a lot of overhead on having to check eligibility. I'm not arguing whether that's good or fair, but it does simplify the system.

Getting the files on it is ok, but library management sucks because Kindle doesn't show the folders. Caveat: My experience is from an older model, so that might have improved.
