Is there a way to do that per repo for these tools ? We all know how user sided configuration works for users (they usually clean it whenever it goes against what they want to do instead of wondering why it blocks their changes :))

I'd buy it. AFAIK the goal of Go is to have as little breaking changes as possible between versions. Although they introduced backwards compat breaking features such as generics have they not ?

Having this kind of outage on a friday after what happened last month though is not a good thing... Props to them for getting back up so quickly but come on, these kinds of outages were not a thing a while back.

Maintainance cost is the main issue for on-prem infra, nowadays add things like DDOS protection and/or scraping protection, which can require dedicated team or for your company to rely on some library or open source project that is not
