CARTO is more focused on backend pipelines and large-scale data (where everything needs to be tiled before it can be visualized), while Kepler is a great last-mile visualization tool. It probably makes more sense for enterprises that scale

Mapbox is just a small step away from that with their MCP server wrapping their pay-by-use API. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a subscription offering with usage limits if that somehow appealed to them. MapTiler already offers their service

A basic litmus test I use for systems programming languages is: “can I imagine the Linux kernel including this language one day?” Currently that’s C, Rust, and some assembly.. obviously there are more languages used for systems programming
