Android had (has?) a similar issue with the hotspot feature where it will not turn on in a region where 5 GHz is more regulated than in the US but will also not give you any warning about it.

Sounds like Wireless CarPlay lag. I've experienced it a few times. They should really fix it. Wired CarPlay is great!

At this point it's very easy: no CarPlay, no buy. So no Tesla (obv), no Rivian.

I use DNS-level blocking and audit, a bit like Pi-hole, but as a commercial service I can use anywhere. Definitely blocks a lot of trackers, but probably not all.

Complicated question... Do you have marketable skills that could land you a job in demand with a visa? Or sufficient savings to "buy" residency somewhere?

You're confusing colos and first-party data centers. A colo mostly relies on its customers for installs and maintenance. Google, MS, FB, Apple etc own the entire building so all the functions are local: server install and maintenance,

You have no idea how much maintenance is required. Just replacing hard drives, not even counting server repairs, new servers installation, network infrastructure installation and maintenance, power distribution, generator engineering, water

Data centers are hardly new technology... For the longest time, people had no idea where the cloud was because the footprint was pretty small. It's another golden goose moment where everyone is going to build DCs and we might end up li

Thanks for that, now I have a rock-solid argument when people say "oh we're already Microsoft customers, we'll just use Azure, it's easier, and they have Active Directory!!"

Some airlines and/or local aviation authorities have additional restrictions. China wants CCC certified power banks, Thailand has a strict 160 Wh limit. Both are very strictly enforced.

I don't think OVH is anywhere near the level of AWS/GCP/Azure in terms of the quality of the infrastructure and networking. They seem to cut all the corners they can cut in pursuit of lower prices. They built a data center ou
