I get what you're driving at, but have you considered that sports teams, athletes are also optimising for 15+ year long careers (or even a long season)? Sports teams help players avoid over-training, over-competing, picking up injuries

This is bad advice. No one should have all their (paper) net worth tied up in one investment. Selling secondary shares is just sensible, even assuming you believe in your company.
