I almost was hit by a Cruise car turning left at a busy intersection while I was in the crosswalk (with a walk signal). When I see a car attempting to turn left, I slow down or stop to make sure it sees me. Cruise car just kept going and go

ChatGPT is way faster at providing pointers that can be used for search or further research. That has nothing to do with Forer Effect. Might be flattering to people but that’s never my use case.

Why/how is your app better than setting native screen time limits in iOS? Doesn’t that accomplish the same thing (except tapping numbers rather than seeing a quote). (All that said, glad you’re poking at this issue!)

I accidentally hit hide or flag all the time on mobile. I wish there was an easy way to view all your flagged posts (just like hidden ones), because for both I invariably try to undo it so I can see the post again.

Main thing I want is lock files. I want to know exactly when full dependency closure changes and to see diffs when it does (and be able to reproduce why closure changed). Otherwise you get weird issues with packages updating when not expect

The bold/italics/indent syntax predates markdown. Markdown is great but the “*” / “_” / “>” were all in use before it (see Usenet emails for example)

There’s still ambiguity in verbal language. On Sunday, if someone messages you “let’s do this next week” - do they mean “in the next 6 days” or “after 7 days from now”?

My read was that Twilio did exactly what EEOC suggested. They ensured that their layoffs did not disproportionately affect minority groups. Anti racist/anti oppression does not mean “anti white”.

The difference is that AI could speed up its evolutionary rate and not have the same constraints as living organisms. If you can multiply rapidly and self-organize, you can outcompete humanity.
