https://github.com/jstilwell/MacAudioInputLocker I maintain a fork of this app, which allows you to quickly set and lock your audio input device, so that they don't switch your audio input device to bluetooth as s

If enough people did it, their entire business model would likely collapse.

Neat, someone should develop an easy-to-deploy script that spawns a headless version of this agent that scrolls through and repeatedly clicks every single ad on X and Facebook using a session cookie.

Kagi is amazing. The ability to permanently remove sites from the results and promote sites you want to see is a game changer.

Part of personality lives inside of our stomachs as well, apparently, and so much of who were are is driven by our interaction with our nerve endings. I think even with a perfect copy of consciousness, it's pointless without a perfect

Honestly, I'm not super worried about AI — at least this iteration of it — because of the uncanny valley effect. I would expect the VO industry to outlaw it purely because if people start to wonder if they're listening to an AI vo

BlueSky is going to win. Domain verification and custom feeds (user-generated firehose filters) are its killer features. It's already better than Twitter, and it's still behind invite codes as they refine it. Once brands realize t

These engineers won't be having fun, because these engineers will be working for Elon Musk. Also, it's a rebrand. He fired the vast majority of the engineers he had. Everyone is hating on "X" because the people who posse

Hey uh, why not pay top-tier talent to build a more modern platform from scratch, starting with zero technical debt, and then when it's ready, merge in the Twitter userbase, and sunset it? It's because he's a fucking moron.

I don't think you're right about this. In fact, I think the killer AR/VR apps will be utility apps. My friends and I watch a movie in VR every week and it's the highlight of my week. It's all I use my Quest 2 for.

I won't be using this unless it has a web app, and without an Android app, they're freezing out a lot of people who could contribute. This won't go anywhere. BlueSky is just fine.

If AWS ever decides to suspend your root account, good luck with that. They never, ever, ever give it back. I had a root account I used for free tier stuff on my primary e-mail address that I never got back because I had $2 charges I didn&#

God damn it. Google Domains was my registrar of choice because I figured I wouldn't have to ever think about logistics and their lookup rules. Ah well. I guess I'll see what Squarespace does to the experience. I'd transfer th

I'm not sure how you would control for this. I was born in 1981, not long after the Vietnam war ended, and my Dad was a veteran with PTSD who never went to a therapist. My home life sucked and I came out of it with pretty severe depres

Skeleton UI (Svelte + Tailwind) is how I go about it. The developer experience is very good. As for the UX, that's mostly just a matter of actually thinking about how people will use the app and taking the time to account for it. In my

It's weird that several large tech companies all need to fire around 10,000 people at the same time. It's almost like the number is completely arbitrary and they're all soullessly choosing profit over their people because the
