A terrible terrible coder? That's a really insulting negative tone. Maybe he is not the best but he is clearly not terrible. Out of all the programmers in the world my guess would be that he is easily in the top 1-5% even if he leaves

When I was using the free version a while back you could mute and then hit play again if you didn't want to listen to the ads. Don't know if that still works.

I never liked app engine. To me it seemed like you have to lock yourself into google as a vendor because your application has to be designed for app engine.

I doubt it. Maybe facebook will be worth more on paper, for a short period of time but Google provides a far far more valuable service and I think that will show in the end.

What public are we talking about? I don't think Apple are considered to be a big bad bad corporation outside of developer circles. On the other hand there have been news reports about how much Google knows about you etc. here in Sweden.
