Because most of the time you can't monetize it enough to be able to escape your day job. So at the end of the day, it's just beer money, and just creates more headaches (legal, taxes etc.)

Same here, the x1 carbon is linux friendly and has a great keyboard. I don't have a retina display, but I don't need that to write code.

Their network improved a lot in the recent years. Their 4G network is currently the best one http://www.techlicious.com/blog/opensignal-state-of-lte-repo... Another nice thing is free roaming in many countries abroad.

It was mostly a lack of docs. Most of the documentation assumes citusDB, and how to get things work without citusDB is left out.

I tried pg_shard a few months ago and after a few hours, I gave up. I somehow remember that partitioning MySQL was easier, and that's not a compliment.

For the same reason as why you shouldn't have a service that locates where sex offenders/ex inmates, this service shouldn't exist. So many things can go wrong with something like this...

I like how CoreOs folks take each painful thing to do, and come up with a simple to use solution. This should save people (and me) quite some time.

I had a hard time before to understand their catch phrase/what they were doing. Improving privacy and control is really what they provide, making the Open Source web apps viable is more for marketing purposes. That somehow doesn't
